The iPhone 5, which was slated to be released in June, will instead be launched in Fall because the Sendai factory that manufactures the camera sensors was damaged by the quake. In its place, the white iPhone 4 will be available in May, although it’s not sure whether it will have something new other than a pretty color. Tempting as it may be to buy a gorgeous looking iPhone, it seems more practical to wait for the iPhone 5 instead. According to Howard Stringer of Sony, the iPhone 5 will get a “major camera upgrade”, though there are no details as to what kind of upgrade it will be. In addition to a new camera, the iPhone 5 will also be equipped with the new iOS 5.
