Smart’s Jump Experience center at SM Megamall

I love high tech stuff. I call them my gadgets, as toys. Playing with toys is way I relax and just chill. Attending the Smart first “Jump” experience center is definitely a fun-filled experience. It makes you want to be little kid and just try out. The “Jump” Experience Center showcase PLDT Group’s latest devices, services, and technologies.

A high tech experience

I am quite impressed with the layout. In events, I don’t usually walk around each and every booth. The “Jump” is definitely an experience. Each nook was well-thought off. The home connection reminds me of my digitally enhanced living space except that I don’t have that Telepad.

“At Jump, you will find the newest, coolest gadgets and services that we have to offer to serve the digital and mobile lifestyles of our customers at home, work, and leisure,” said PLDT President and CEO Napoleon L. Nazareno. “It showcases how PLDT and Smart are working together to offer customers the best possible service.”

There is so many things to see at the Jump. All the latest products for the high tech home is imaginable here. One can peruse through the new PLDT Telpad, the latest smartphones and tablets — the Apple iPad 2, the BlackBerry PlayBook, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the HTC Sensation.

The handsets and devices that have yet to come out in the market and that will work best when powered by Smart’s nationwide network are featured here. Take a spin with the HTC EVO 3D, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the NFC-enabled Nokia C7.

PPLDT’s Fiber to the Home and Smart’s WiMAX and HSPA+ connectivity will power these mobile handsets. Just like the gadgets, visitors are free to try out these services even with their own devices. I believe that is the only way to get sold to the service if testing is available. I wish they’d also offer “trial period” before deciding on a subscription.

Digital playground

This has got to be the best part of the “Jump Experience”.

The three gigantic touchscreen displays is awesome. The first is the ‘Jump Screen’ located by the entrance allow visitors to create their own dancing avatars. (Check the first photo of this entry. )The second is used in the ‘Jump Springboard’ lecture room as an interactive way of learning for customers. The third and largest is called ‘Jump Panorama’ and is found at the heart of Jump.

At 82 inches, Jump Panorama is one of the largest multi-touchscreen displays in the Philippines. It is an interactive screen featuring various products and services of PLDT and Smart and how they play a role in the lifestyle of each member of the typical Filipino family.

Imagine playing with Angry Birds in this huge screen.

When the Jump Panorama is not playing this interactive video, Jump visitors can get a ‘supersized’ feel of the latest touchscreen devices, from phones to tablets.

Another innovation at the Jump Experience center are two units of multi-touch screens capable of accommodating 32 fingers — equivalent to 4 people simultaneously using it.

Jump visitors can also play games with their friends and know more about PLDT and Smart activities in the interactive presentation of the ‘Jump World’.

Most of all, the staff is more than willing to help you explore the “Jump” experience.
