Nintendo DSi Sees US Release this April

The Nintendo DSi, the newest incarnation of the Nintendo DS, has been all over Japan since November 2008. This year, black and blue Nintendo DSi’s are finally coming to the West on April 5, for US$169.99. The DSi features larger screen, a new SD card slot, better speakers, and two .3 megapixel cameras, but it won’t have a Game Boy Advance cartridge slot like the DS or DS Lite. Along with the DSi, Nintendo will also be releasing the popular DS game Rhythm Heaven, which has sold over 1.6 million copies in Japan when it came out last July. The Nintendo DSiWare app will also be available in the US, and will feature software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi points, pretty much like the Nintendo Wii’s WiiWare.
