Using the Samsung Galaxy Camera , the world’s first truly Connected Camera at a Pampanga Food trip

In the social media revolution, more and more people are getting connected to their social networks. Of course, one of the most shared items are photos. With the advent of instagram, four square and other photo sharing sites like facebook or twitter, it pays to have fast and easy connectivity.

Now the new Samsung GALAXY Camera delivers with its Android™ 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and the freedom of 3G + Wi-Fi connectivity makes it a truly connected camera. This was demonstrated recently at a Northern exposure trip in Pampanga. Unfortunately , I was unable to join the group so I asked my daughter to take my place and experience the GALAXY Camera and at the same time have fun in the Pampanga food and heritage tour. Together with other bloggers and journalists, each got to shoot, enjoy, edit and share high quality images from the various spots in Pampanga. Each team composed of two were told to share their photos in their instagram.

There is a world of difference between a connected camera and the usual point and shoot cameras. Connected Camera gives users the total freedom to take photos and vides wherever and whenever they wish and share them instantly through their favorite social networking sites or with family and friends without the restrictions of a conventional camera. The challenge was up for media to deliver the most number of images in their instagram accounts.

Here are some photos taken by the Galaxy camera:

The tsokolate batirol made of ground peanuts at the Everybody’s Café in San Fernando warmed the tummies of everyone.

The tapang kalabaw looks very inviting with this shot. Though it has a tougher texture compared to beef, it still is tender enough.

The fine details of the cookies from the Kusina ni Atching Lilian Borromeo captured by a macro shot.

The Galaxy camera takes great macro shots. Want the Fried Camaru or rice field crickets? They taste like bacon but the thought gives me a queasy feeling.

For most social media users, taking macro shots of food is the norm. Even instagram users want to take close up shots of their food.

Boasting a 21x super long optical zoom lens and a super-bright 16M BSI CMOS sensor, the GALAXY Camera features Samsung’s ‘Smart Pro Mode ’ technology; a series of 15 default modes and settings that make professional-looking photography easy for anyone to achieve.

A landscape shot is shown through this baroque style church called San Guillermo that got partly buried with lahar from the Mt. Pinatubo explosion.

Once captured, users can enjoy their images on the GALAXY Camera’s 4.8”(121.2mm) HD Super Clear Touch Display like this vintage sewing machine below.

However, the GALAXY Camera’s beautiful display can be used for more than just viewing. Users can quickly and easily make professional edits to their photos using the integrated ‘Photo Wizard’; a comprehensive set of 35 photo editing tools powered by the GALAXY Camera’s ultrafast quad-core processor. User can also use ‘Paper Artist’, an app that became popular on the GALAXY Note II, for quick and unique photo edits. Isn’t that nifty?

The GALAXY Camera ships with Android™ 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with access to over 500,000 apps currently available on Google Play Store. My daughter who is a DSLR user tells me that it is a camera she wants me to buy when she does not need to bring her DSLR. The only problem she sees with the Galaxy Camera is that like any Smart Phone, the battery easily dies out. Samsung solved this dilemma by providing an extra battery pack with a purchase of the Galaxy camera.

SRP of the Samsung Galaxy Camera is Php23,990 with an extra battery.
