The world’s first 12-megapixel camera is finally in the Philippines! The fully touchscreen Samsung Pixon12 is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera and a host of other functions that enable users to easily capture, browse, and share their images online. Thanks to a dedicated Camera Power Key, users have fast one-touch access to the camera function. Once the Pixon12’s camera is turned on, users can simply point and shoot as they would with a normal digital camera. Samsung Pixon12 also has fast image saving, so you can move on to the next photo in just two seconds. But speed is not the only thing that makes this device a superior camera phone. The Pixon12 also has Touch Auto-Focus tracking that allows users to select focus points with a touch of their finger. The Smart Auto feature also lets you capture perfect images as the camera automatically changes the scene and mode based on the object, background, and lighting. Finally, a 22mm wide angle lens and brilliant Xenon flash provides high quality images no matter what time of day it is.

As for its features as a mobile phone, the Samsung Pixon12 also has a 3.1″ fully touchscreen display, music player (with support for .mp3, .wma, .ra and .aac files), video player (with support for .mpeg4, .xvid, and .divx videos), WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

We got to try out the camera features of the Samsung Pixon12 at Carlos Celdran’s old Manila tour. Here are the sample photos from our lunch at Ambos Mundos, the oldest restaurant in the Philippines:
