Remember my blog post on the Xiaomi Redmi 6? Well, I got a review unit (meaning I return it after reviewing it for a week or two).
It is always such a thrill to unbox a gadget. It is like unwrapping a gift. What is inside the pretty red box?

The box has the basics: plug, USB cable, SIM pin, a manual and the unit, of course. Sorry , there is no earphones.
The Redmi 6 has a 5.45-inch 18:9 display with a screen-to-body ratio of 80.5%. It sports the latest MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. ?Its octa-core CPU is built on 12nm process and consumes about 48% less power than comparable 28nm chipsets. Its 3000 mAh high capacity battery allows the phone to stay in standby mode for up to 19 days.
It took some time to go to the main screen upon turning on the power . The phone was very efficient as I used the browser, facebook and the camera. I still have to use it the next few days so this review is limited. I am sharing the camera shots. They are lovely.
This phone is 8.3 mm slim and is very light at 146 grams. Other features include a hybrid dual-SIM card slot, a headset jack that provides good sound quality, a micro USB port for charging . And the loudspeaker is quite good. The smartphone includes face unlock and fingerprint sensor but I prefer the latter.
