Huawei offers a two-day trade-in promotion for consumers to upgrade your old cameras for a Huawei P9 on June 11-12. This offer is only valid for the first 100 buyers of each phone model within the promo duration. Each user can only avail of one unit applied for.
You can trade-in any functioning or non-functioning film or digital camera on June 11-12, 2016 starting at 11:00am at the flagship store of Huawei in SM Mall of Asia. Get a chance to avail of a 20% discount when purchasing the Huawei P9 (SRP P23,990) and P9 Plus (SRP P29,990). Each transaction will also come with free Gouache Bag, a VIP card, and 13,000 mAh Powerbank too.
The Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus will be available in Huawei concept stores and distributors nationwide starting June 15, 2016 at P23,990 and P29,990 respectively. The P9 Lite will also be available at P12,490. The Philippines will carry the Huawei P9 in colors of Prestige Gold, Titanium Grey, and Mystic Silver, while the P9 Plus will be available in Haze Gold and Titanium Grey. You can also avail of these through different Globe and Smart Postpaid plans nationwide.
Reinventing Smartphone Photography
Well, I just had to get that out of the way before I discuss the unique features of the Huawei P9. Most of us use our cellphones to take photos instead of our digital camera or the heavy DSLR. At the launch yesterday, it was revealed that Huawei P9 is the first smartphone co-engineered with the global iconic brand, Leica Camera AG. The P9’s dual-lens camera takes smartphone photography to the next level, allowing people to capture both in vivid colors and in striking black and white images. With P9, users can now capture images using a smartphone with a bokeh setting – a Leica signature.
The RGB camera on the P9 specializes in capturing color, while the monochrome camera is outstanding at acquiring picture detail. The two rear cameras of the P9 work together to enable users to create images of superior detail, depth and color. The P9 also excels in low-light conditions, as the dual-camera design guarantees more light and detail can be captured.

You can choose between three film modes: Standard, Vivid Colors and Smooth Colors, depending on your personal preferences. By selecting the monochrome mode, P9 users can use their devices as a true monochrome camera to capture powerful and evocative black and white images of superior quality.
The wide-aperture photography feature on the P9 allows you to experiment with innovative visual effects to create unique images and content. The P9 makes it easy to adjust the camera aperture to create bokeh and other depth-of-field effects, while keeping the main object in sharp focus. I took a video of my friend using this feature
I am really excited to use the Huawei P9 plus which I won in the instagram contest during the launch. I will discuss more on my initial impressions once I get hold of my unit. Meantime here are the specs
