International Travelers to the US Cannot Bring Carry-On Electronics

new safety measures from TSA

If you’re traveling to the US anytime in the near future, I hope you bought a lot of books or magazines where you came from. In light of the recent bombing attempt on a US flight, the United States’ Transportation Security Administration decreed a new irritating rule – absolutely no electronics on board international flights. Not your cellphone, not your Macbook, not your Kindle, not even an iPod shuffle. All of these have to be stowed neatly inside your check-in luggage. Aside from that, travelers cannot get up during the last hour of the flight, not even to go to the bathroom. TSA officials did not explain the logic behind these silly rules but it’s likely that they’re just overreacting to the recent events.
