Nikon Coolpix L110 and L22

I love how the new Nikon L110 looks! Sure, it’s a little too bulky for a point-and-shoot, but you don’t see that sexy maroon color on cameras too often. Aside from its looks, the Nikon L110 packs a powerful zoom – this 12.1-megapixel camera has a 15x optical zoom lens that can cover a 28mm to 420mm focal range. It’s got a 3-inch rear LCD and can record up to 720p resolution HD movies. It also has optical image stabilization, a 3-inch rear LCD, a high ISO capacity, and Hybrid VR image stabilization. But if you don’t think you need all those features on your camera, you can try its sister, the Nikon L22. This compact digital camera has a 12-megapixel resolution and a 3.6x optical zoom. Both cameras will be made available in stores – the L110 for $279.99 and the L220 for $129.99. Check out the Nikon website for more details.

  1. I’m a pro DSLR user and a high-end compact user. While such halfway cameras as this are undoubtedly excellent I can’t help feeling that they are neither one thing or another. That is there never quite as good as a full blown DSLR and not quite as convenient as a truly pocketable compact. I’ve recently replaced a Canon G10 with an S90 and have no regrets. I’m far more inclined to have the S90 with me at all time and I’m far less likely to miss photo-opportunites. That said I’m sure that these Nikon cameras produce excellent results.
