The  future of media is in mobile which includes mobile e-commerce, mobile health, mobile banking and even mobile shopping.  This is where Voyager Innovations, Inc. (Voyager), the digital unit of Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications (PLDT) Group, is a step ahead. Today, Voyager launched a groundbreaking platform that will allow brands and businesses to easily reach their customers nationwide through their mobile phones.

This is separate from Smart’s free internet to all.

Dubbed SafeZone (www.safezone.ph), the service aims to bring businesses closer to customers by offering access to their mobile apps and sites for FREE, giving brands the opportunity to be ever-present in the lives of users through a device that they always carry with them wherever they go.

“SafeZone presents a real win-win scenario for businesses and consumers alike,” said Orlando B. Vea, President of Voyager. “By offering free access to businesses’ apps and sites, SafeZone enhances the value proposition of brands to their customers, so their users are better served and companies are more efficient. This platform will open the door so that more companies will be able to take advantage of this kind of powerful partnership.”

Biggest brands

For its launch in the Philippines, SafeZone has partnered with the big brand names in local and global entertainment, online commerce, travel, transportation, and news, including the likes of Philippine Airlines, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Agoda, Inquirer, Skyscanner, ZALORA, Carmudi, Lamudi, SPINNR, GameX, Babble Messenger, Eat Bulaga, and Pinoy Hoops, among others.

Soon, other partners like the Philippine Star, InterAksyon, Yahoo! Celebrity, Takatack, Tripda, and foodpanda will be added to an ever-expanding list of services that users can access for free. Initially, free access to SafeZone partner apps and sites will be available to Smart subscribers in the country*.

In addition to all these services, users can also access their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds within SafeZone free of charge. All they have to do is link their social networking accounts through the SafeZone Social page in order to post, like, tweet, favorite, and comment on social media posts.

More mobile services

With a platform like SafeZone allowing businesses to offer access to their mobile apps and sites for free, Fernandez said this could spur businesses to take full advantage of a more mobile-centric approach in reaching out to their customers.

“Through SafeZone, businesses can provide a mobile service that is convenient and easily accessible to users, and more importantly, it requires no cost on the part of their customers,” he added.
